We are so excited to share with you the art for this year’s GBAC, which was created by Aspen Carrillo. Aspen is a third year Fine Arts major at the University of Nevada, Reno. She is Washoe and Paiute and grew up in Carson City. She is an amazing human, a talented artist and student, and an advocate in the community.
We need those attending the GBAC to reserve their hotel room at Whitney Peak Hotel for at least 2nights, taking advantage of the $161rate that we contracted for. Please book your room as soon as youcan. As it has been done for the past several conferences, the GBAA negotiates a special rate in exchange fora guaranteed certain number of room nights. Unfortunately, due to a glitch in the hotel website, thecontracted rate appeared to be over $200 instead of our negotiated rate. If you booked at this higherrate, then you should cancel and rebook at our negotiated rate. Likewise, if you booked at another hotelbecause of the higher rate, we ask you please to cancel and rebook at the $161 rate at Whitney Peak.We have to meet our negotiated room night guarantee to avoid paying for rooms that we don’t end upusing.
